Terms of Use

Last updated: 1 March 2025

Acceptance

By using Advoke CV, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

What you get

Advoke CV is a free, browser-based resume builder. It is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. You may use it for personal and commercial purposes, including building resumes for others, provided you do not misrepresent the service as your own.

Your content

You own everything you create with Advoke CV. The resume content you enter belongs to you. Advoke CV does not claim any rights to it, does not access it, and cannot retrieve it on your behalf.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Advoke CV to:

  • Create resumes containing false information intended to deceive employers
  • Impersonate another person
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer or redistribute the software as your own product
  • Interfere with the service's operation for other users
  • Use the service in violation of any applicable law

No account required

Advoke CV does not require an account. There is no registration, no email verification, and no password. Your data is stored only in your browser.

Data loss

Your drafts live in your browser's localStorage. If you clear your browser data, switch devices, use private browsing, or your browser's storage becomes full, your drafts will be lost. Advoke CV cannot recover them. Use the Export JSON option to keep a backup.

Availability

Advoke CV is provided free and without any service-level agreement. The service may be changed, interrupted, or discontinued at any time without notice. There is no guarantee of uptime, data preservation, or feature continuity.

Intellectual property

The Advoke CV name, wordmark, visual design, source code, templates, and written content are the intellectual property of Advoke CV. You may not redistribute, resell, or claim them as your own. Your resume content remains yours.

No warranty

Advoke CV is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Use at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Advoke CV shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to lost drafts, lost job opportunities, or employment outcomes.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. The "last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the change.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.
